The Gospel message, or Good News, can be summarized in the following way:
- Sin separates all humans from the love of God (Romans 3:23); the ultimate result of sinfulness is that it leads
to our spiritual death (Romans 6:23) which is eternal separation from God;
- Sin's solution can be found in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23); He is the only
solution (John 14:6). It is His sacrifice that bridges the gap or separation between us and God that is caused by
our sin. Christ died in our stead (John 3:16) and His sacrifice can prevent us from being forever separated from
God (1 John 4:10);
- Action is demanded and a decision on our part must be made if the sin separating us from the love of God is to
be removed. We must choose to believe in Christ's name (John 1:12) and to place our trust in Him. Don't postpone
this decision as the right time is now (2 Corinthians 6:2). While God is patient (2 Peter 3:9), not wanting any to
perish, choosing to not make a decision now is the same as choosing 'no'.
